With the season approaching the Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs boys wrestling team, head coach Patrick Hansen said that the Bulldogs bring back a large nucleus of the team from last year with around 15 kids that earned varsity letters returning. Hansen said that like always that the team has high expectations this year.
 

Following a successful season last year that saw the West Fork Warhawks girls basketball team advance to the second round of the Class 2A Region 2 tournament and the year with a record of 13-10. The Warhawks are getting ready to go even further this season.
 
Head coach Rodney Huber said that one goal for the team this year is to compete for the conference title and the other is to make a deep run in the playoffs.
 

The season may not have gone the way the West Fork Warhawks football team would have liked as the team ended the season with a record of 2-7. But head coach Daniel Westhoff said that while the team was a little disappointed with the final record, that the team did take some steps forward.
 

Heading into the upcoming season, the Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs girls basketball team are getting ready for the season. Head coach Miranda Stafford said that one goal for the team is to start the season ready to go as the team had a slow start last season. Last year the Bulldogs went exactly .500 with a record of 11-11 and the year before that, the Bulldogs were 5-17 on the year.
 

SHEFFIELD—- The season came to an end for the West Fork Warhawks football team after falling to the BCLUW Comets 39-20 on Oct. 25. The Warhawks end the season with a record of 2-7.
 

JEWELL JUNCTION—- The West Fork Warhawks boys and girls cross country teams competed at the Class 1A State Qualifier meet at Jewell Golf and Country Club on Oct. 24.
 

HAMPTON—-- The Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs football team kept in close for most of the game but the Bulldogs fell to the Algona Bulldogs 31-6 on Oct. 25. Hampton-Dumont-CAL ends the season with a record of 3-6 on the year.

WAVERLY—-- The Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs cross country teams competed at the State Qualifier 3A meet at Max Championship Cross Country Course on Oct. 23.
 

SHEFFIELD—- The West Fork Warhawks fell to 1-6 after being shut out by the No. 3 ranked St. Ansgar Saints 53-0 on Oct. 11.
 

The Hampton–Dumont-CAL Bulldogs volleyball team went 3-2 on the week.
 

HAMPTON—--- The Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs football team fell to 2-5 as they were unable to score in the 36-0 loss to the No. 14. Clear Lake Lions on Oct. 11.
 
The Bulldogs trailed 15-0 after the first quarter and the Lions added 14 points in the second quarter to make it 29-0. Neither team scored in the third quarter and Clear Lake outscored the Bulldogs 7-0 in the fourth quarter.
 

BRITT—-- The West Fork Warhawks football team went up against a tough opponent on the road on Sept. 27 and were unable to keep up with the West Hancock Eagles as the eagles defeated the Warhawks 48-0. The Warhawks dropped to 1-4 on the year after the loss.

HAMPTON—- The Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs football team was unable to comeback from an early deficit as the team lost to the Humboldt Wildcats 28-10 at home on Sept. 27. The Bulldogs are now 2-3 on the year following the loss.

The past week saw two meets for the Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs cross country teams as the teams’ had their first meet on Sept. 24. at Mason City and the second meet was on Sept. 26. at Pioneer Town and Country Club.

Hampton-Dumont-CAL:
Sept. 10. Volleyball lost to Humboldt in four sets (25-22, 13-25, 17-25, 13-25). The Bulldogs had 22 kills in the game, Aubryee Showalter and Addison Aalbers both led the team with eight kills each, Kenzie Moorehead added three kills, Mallory Rieken, Madison Heilskov, and Charlee Morton all had one kill each.
