The Hampton-Dumont-CAL (HDCAL) baseball team dropped both games of a doubleheader versus the Algona Bulldogs at home on Thursday, June 19. The games were originally supposed to be played on Monday, June 16, but the games were suspended due to inclement weather. It was the only two games the Bulldogs would play last week, due to rainouts on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The West Fork baseball team has gotten hot, winning three of their four games they played last week and having won four of their last five games. They took down the North Butler Bearcats 2-0 on Monday, June 2, the Central Springs Panthers 4-3 on Wednesday, June 4, the Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowboys 11-1 on Thursday, June 5 before losing to the Saints Ansgar Saints 10-2 on Friday, June 6. 
 

The Hampton-Dumont-CAL softball team went 1-2 in the three games they played last week. They would drop their first two games of the week, losing to the AGWSR Cougars 7-2 on Tuesday, June 3 and to the St. Edmond Gaels 9-9 on Wednesday, June 4, before beating the Iowa Falls-Alden Cadets 10-8 on Friday, June 6. 
 

Hampton-Dumont-CAL baseball was able to pick up their first win of the season as part of a 1-3 week overall. The Bulldogs split a double header with the Humboldt Wildcats, losing game one 8-3 and winning game two 4-3 on Monday, June 2, before losing both games of a double header to the Saint Ansgar Saints 11-0 and 7-0 on Saturday, June 7. 
 

Hampton-Dumont-CAL’s (HDCAL) boys soccer team defeated the Charles City Comets by a score of 7-1 in the first round of the 2-2A substate playoffs on a rain soaked Tuesday, May 20.. The Bulldogs are the number three seed in the class 2A substate 2 tournament after a 9-3-3 record in the regular season, while the Comets were the six seed.

Hampton-Dumont-CAL lost both games of a double header to the Clear Lake Lions at home on Wednesday, May 21. In what was supposed to be another away trip for the Bulldogs, the games ended up being moved from Clear Lake to Hampton due to the Clear Lake baseball field being unplayable. It was the second and third game of the season for the Bulldogs after dropping their season opener to the Fort Dodge Dodgers. In game one the Bulldogs lost 3-0.

Both the Hampton-Dumont-CAL (HDCAL)  boys and girls track and field teams competed in the 2025 3A State Qualifying Meet at Decorah High School on Thursday, May 15. Two athletes from the girls team qualified for state, Charlee Morton and Lily Hambly, while Beau Morton was the lone Bulldog from the boys team to qualify.

Summer sports will officially be underway when the Hampton-Dumont-CAL softball team takes the diamond for their first game on Tuesday, May 27 at 7:30 p.m. versus North Butler at home. The Bulldogs have had a very similar record each of the past three seasons. They were 7-18 in 2022, 8-17 in 2023, and 7-17 in 2024.

The Hampton-Dumont-CAL girls soccer team lost their last game of the regular season versus Garner-Hayfield-Ventura (GHV) by a score of 8-0 on Monday, May 12. It was the last home game of the regular season and senior night for the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs have four seniors on this year's team that were celebrated; Mallory Rieken, Mary Jane Jensen, Shakira Vela and Maria Ramirez.
 

The Hampton-Dumont-CAL boys soccer team defeated the Graner-Hayfield-Ventra Cardinals by a score of 9-0 on Thursday, May 12. It was senior night and the last game of the regular season for the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs would have 16 seniors that were playing their last career regular season game that were celebrated before the game.

The Hampton-Dumont-CAL girls soccer team lost their match vs the Webster City Lynx by a score of 5-0 on Monday, May 5. It was the Bulldogs second matchup of the season with the Lynx, having dropped their first matchup versus them 6-0. It was another strong first half for the Bulldogs, as they held the Lynx scoreless in the half, behind some good saves from Madison Heilskov.

Summer sports practices are underway at Hampton-Dumont-CAL and the Bulldogs baseball team will begin their season on Monday, May 19 with a double header versus the Clear Lake Lions.  The Bulldogs will look to get back to being a .500 ball club. After finishing 15-15 and 7-7 in conference in 2023, their record fell to 9-21 and 4-10 in conference in 2024.
 

The Hampton-Dumont-CAL (HDCAL) boys and girls track and field teams competed in their respective North Central Conference track meets on Thursday, May 8. The boys meet was held at Clear Lake, while the girls meet was held at Iowa Falls-Alden. 

The West Fork boys and girls track and field teams both competed in the Jim Basye Coed Relays at Hampton-Dumont-CAL on Friday, May 2. The girls finished fourth out of 14 teams with a total of 71 points while the boys finished seventh out of 10 teams with a total of 69 points. 

The Hampton-Dumont-CAL girls soccer team lost their match vs the Clear Lake Lions by a score of 7-0 on Wednesday, April 30. It was the Bulldogs second matchup of the season vs the Lions, losing to them 8-1 the first time they played. After the Lions scored two quick goals in the first ten minutes of the game, the Bulldogs defense was able to settle in and hold them scoreless the remainder of the first half.
