Marlea Louise Dykeman, 86, of Dows and formally of Iowa Falls, Iowa passed away October 4, 2024 at Clarion Wellness and Rehab Center. Services for Marlea Dykeman will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 7, 2024 at Linn’s Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, October 6, 2024 also at Linn’s Funeral Chapel Burial will be at Northlawn Memorial Gardens in Iowa Falls.

With profound sadness, we are sharing the news of the unexpected passing of Austin James Plagge, 32, of Denver, Colorado. Born in Davenport, Iowa on September 18, 1992, and raised in the North Scott area, Austin grew up excelling in anything he put his mind to, whether it was academically, artistically, or through the many athletic teams he was involved in such as baseball and basketball.

Melvin Ayers, 92, of Hampton, passed away on September 25, 2024. Melvin was born on November 2, 1931 near Aredale, to Ivan and Edna (Conn) Ayers. 
Melvin graduated from Hansell High School. He was united in marriage to Ethel Bonjour on June June 24, 1951 near Dumont, la. 
Melvin enjoyed spending time with family, camping, woodworking, lawn and gardening. 

Clinton Duane Meyer, 94, of Iowa Falls, Iowa passed away Sunday, September 29, 2024 at Bishop Drum Retirement Center in Johnston, Iowa.

Roger DuWayne Corbin was born September 7, 1921, in Hampton, Iowa, son of Frank and Nettie (Hunt) Corbin. He attended grade and high school in Hampton, where he graduated with the class of 1939. Roger attended Coe College in Cedar Rapids, until enlisting in the U.S. Army during World War II. Later, he completed his education at Dunwoody Institute of Technology in Minneapolis. 

Gladys Erickson, 91, of Iowa Falls, passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at the Sheffield Care Center. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 27, 2024, at the Surls Funeral Home in Iowa Falls with burial in the Union Cemetery. Visitation will be an hour before the service. Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of the Surls Funeral Home in Iowa Falls.

Michael Allen, 60, of Aredale, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. September 21, 2024 at the Aredale United Methodist Church with burial in the Harlan Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9-10:30 a.m. before the service. Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of the Sietsema-Atkinson Funeral Home in Hampton. 

Sharon Miller, 86 of Algona, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2024, at the Good Samaritan Village in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Funeral services were held on Monday, September 16, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Lentz Funeral Home in Algona. Burial took place at Hampton Cemetery in Hampton. Visitation was on Monday, September 16, 2024, from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at Lentz Funeral Home in Algona.

Alfred Vasquez, 64, of Hampton, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Franklin Country View in Hampton. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at the Sietsema-Atkinson Funeral Home in Hampton with burial in the Hampton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. on Tuesday at the Sietsema-Atkinson Funeral Home.

Bruce Pieper, 67, of Iowa Falls, passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at his residence in Iowa Falls. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at the Surls Funeral Home in Iowa Falls with a lunch to follow at St. Mark Catholic Church. A private family burial will take place.   James “Jim” Allen Koenen, 79, of Hampton, passed away Friday, September 6, 2024, at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, September 12, 2024, at Woodley Funeral Home in Hampton. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 13, 2024, at the Hampton United Methodist Church. Woodley Funeral Home and Crematory is caring for Jim and his family.

Jesse Ostheimer, 41, of Alden, Iowa, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, September 6, 2024, while doing what he loved. He passed away in a plane accident near Anderson, Indiana. Funeral services are currently pending with Surls Funeral Home in Iowa Falls. Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 13 at the Cornerstone Church in Ames with a luncheon to follow. Burial will take place at 10 a.m.

Owen Renaud, 19, of Alden, Iowa, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, September 6, 2024, while doing what he loved. He passed away in a plane accident near Anderson, Indiana. Robert Allen Hogan, 66, of Webster City, Iowa and formally of Iowa Falls, Iowa passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at Van Diest Medical Center in Webster City, Iowa. Funeral services for Robert Allen Hogan will be 1:00 pm, Monday September 9th, 2024, at Linn’s Funeral Home Chapel, Iowa Falls, Iowa . Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial will be at the Friends Cemetery directly following services.

Beverly Rae (Pope) Gamble, 82, of Swea City, IA, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on August 25th, 2024. Funeral services will be held 1:00p.m. Friday, September 6, 2024 at the Swea City Community Church in Swea City, Iowa with Pastor Todd Hartsock officiating. Inurnment will be in Harrison Township Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
