ALLEMAN - The Hampton-Dumont-CAL boys basketball team's season has come to an end after a 78-50 loss to the North Polk Comets in the first round of the Class 3A District 2 tournament on Monday, Feb. 23. The Bulldogs fell behind 19-4 at the end of the first quarter and were never able to recover. Despite the season coming to an end, the Bulldogs improved their win total from four wins last season to seven wins this season.
Three members of the West Fork girls basketball team were selected to the Top of Iowa-East All-Conference teams. Senior Brylee Dickman and sophomore Zada Huff were selected to the second team all-conference, while junior Evelyn Hitzhusen was selected to the honorable mentions team.
Two members of the Hampton-Dumont-CAL girls basketball team earned North Central Conference All-Conference honors for the 2025-2026 season. Sophomore MacKenzy Valley was selected to the second team all-conference while junior Madison Heilskov was selected to the third team all-conference.
DECORAH - Wartburg track star and Hampton-Dumont-CAL graduate Lydia Mass won the American Rivers Conference Championship in the women's 5000 meter race on Friday, Feb. 27. Maas beat out 18 other runners with a time of 18 minutes, 3.85 seconds and helped Wartburg win the team conference championship. Mass discussed how she was able to win a conference championship in just her sophomore season.
The West Fork boys basketball team's season came to an end with a 74-52 loss to the Belmod-Klemme Broncos in the second round of the Class 1A District 1 playoffs on Thursday, Feb. 19. This comes after the Warhawks defeated the Lake Mills Bulldogs 70-60 in the first round on Monday, Feb. 16.
The West Fork girls basketball season has come to an end after a 57-48 loss to the Sioux Central Rebels on Friday, Feb. 20 in the second round of the Class 2A Region 1 Tournament. This comes after the Warhawks defeated the East Marshall Mustangs 48-17 in the first round on Tuesday, Feb. 17.
DES MOINES - The three Bulldogs that qualified for the boys state wrestling meet all went 2-2 in their matches. Sophomore Luke Showalter, senior Brody Strother and senior Maddon Evans each went 2-2 in their respective weight classes in the IHSAA Boys State Wrestling Meet at the Casey's Center in Des Moines last weekend.

DIKE - The Hampton-Dumont-CAL girls basketball season has come to an end with a 37-34 loss to the Dike-New Hartford Wolverines in the first round of the Class 3A Region 3 tournament on Saturday, Feb. 14. The loss came after the Bulldogs defeated the Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowgirls 55-11 in the last game of the regular season on Tuesday, Feb. 10.
The regular season for the Hampton-Dumont-CAL boys basketball team has come to an end. The Bulldogs ended the last week of the regular season by defeating the Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowboys 71-61 on Tuesday, Feb. 10 and losing to the Aplington-Parkersburg Falcons 64-53 on Thursday, Feb. 12 and to the Clear Lake Lions 63-51 on Friday, Feb. 13.
CORALVILLE - Hampton-Dumont-CAL junior placed fourth in the 190 pound class in the IGHSAU Class 1A State Championship wrestling Meet on Thursdai, Feb. 5 and Friday, Feb. 6. Subbert is proud of her accomplishment.
The Hampton-Dumont-CAL (HDCAL) boys basketball team picked up a dominate 65-30 win over the Iowa Falls-Alden Cadets on Tuesday, Feb, 3. The Bulldogs then lost to the Algona Bulldogs 73-58 on Friday, Feb. 6. Coach Matt Lokenvitz was happy to see his team put up one of their best performances of the season this late in the season.
Hampton-Dumont-CAL (HDCAL) girls basketball lost both of their games last week. The Bulldogs fell to the Iowa Falls-Alden Cadets 46-38 on Tuesday, Feb. 3 and to the Algona Bulldogs 61-38 on Friday, Feb. 6.
In the loss to Iowa Falls-Alden, HDCAL fell behind 14-2 at the end of the first quarter and were unable to come back. Junior Madison Heilskov led the Warhawks with 14 points on 6-of-16 shooting and eight rebounds.
