Bulldogs Boys Wrestling Wins Two of Three Duals in Independence Quad

INDEPENDENCE - The Hampton-Dumont-CAL boys wrestling team won two of their three duals in a quad at Independence High School on Saturday, Jan. 3. The Bulldogs defeated the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks 76-6 and the Saydel Eagles 72-12 while losing 69-11 to the Independence Eagles.
 

Bulldogs Girls Wrestling Defeats Eagles in Quad at Independence

INDEPENDENCE - The Hampton-Dumont-CAL girls wrestling team defeated the Saydel Eagles 42-19, and lost to the Independence Mustangs 40-36 and to the Sumner-Fredericksburg Cougars 54-18 in quad at Independence High School on Saturday, Jan. 3.

Bulldogs Defeat Wolverines for First Win of Season

The Hampton-Dumont-CAL boys basketball team picked up their first win of the season after defeating the Dike-New Hartford Wolverines 70-61 on Tuesday, Dec. 9. The Bulldogs offense exploded for 70 points, more than they scored in any game last season, to lead the Bulldogs to the victory. Head coach of the Bulldogs, Matt Lokenvitz, expressed that is the offensive output he wants to see from his team.

Bulldogs Girls Basketball Falls to Wolverines

Hampton-Dumont-CAL girls basketball fell to the Dike-New HArtford Wolverines by a score of 45-19 on Tuesday, Dec. 9. The Bulldogs struggled to get an offensive rhythm going in the first half, as the Wolveriens took a 24-6 lead into halftime.

Warhawks Girls Fall to Knights for Third Consecutive Loss

SHEFFIELD - The West Fork girls basketball team fell to the Newman Catholic Knights by a score of 56-37 on Friday, Dec. 12, the third loss in a row for the Warhawks.. This came after their game at Northwood-Kensett on Tuesday, Dec. 9 was postponed due to weather. The Warhakws couldn't overcome a strong shooting night from the Knights as they knocked down six three pointers at a 33% clip.

Warhawks Boys Basketball Drops Game to Knights

SHEFFIELD - West Fork boys basketball has fallen to 0-2 to start the season after falling 65-55 to the Newman Catholic Knights on Friday, Dec. 12. The Warhawks started hot, as they outscored the Knights 15-12 in the first quarter. However, that would be the only quarter the Warhawks would win, as the Knights outscored them 14-10 in the second quarter, 19-15 in the third quarter and 2015 in the second quarter.

Bulldogs Girls Wrestling Places Third in Go-Hawk Invitational

WAVERLY - It was a strong showing for the Hampton-Dumont-CAL girls wrestling team at the Go-Hawk invitational on Tuesday, Dec. 9 as the Bulldogs finished in third place out of eight teams with a score of 95. Bulldogs head coach, Brittany Stevens, spoke on the strong performance the girls had in the tournament.

Bulldogs Boys Wrestling Places Fourth in Keith Vry Invitational

PARKERSBURG - The Hampton-Dumont-CAL boys wrestling team had a solid performance in the Keith Vry Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 13, as they placed fourth overall out of nine team with a score of 154.5. Head coach of the Bulldogs, Colin Muller, was very proud of how his team performed in the tournament.

Bulldogs Boys Basketball Begins Season with Loss to Nevada

The Hampton-Dumont-CAL boys basketball season began with a 73-40 loss to the sixth ranked team in class 3A, the Nevada Cubs, on Tuesday, Dec. 2. The Bulldogs were in the game early, trailing just 28-23 at halftime, before the Cubs pulled away in the second half. Bulldogs head coach, Matt Lokenvitz, discussed how playing good teams like Nevada to begin the season will help the Bulldogs in the long run.
 

Bulldogs Take Down Wolves and Wildcats in Home Quad

The Hampton-Dumont-CAL girls wrestling team went 2-1 in their home quad on Thursday, Dec. 4. The Bulldogs defeated the North Butler/Clarksville Wolves 42-30 and the Janesville Wildcats 36-33, before losing 63-18 to the OSage Green Devils. Head coach of the Bulldogs, Brittany Stevens, was proud of how her team performed in the quad.
 

Warhawks Girls Drops Games to Indians and Cardinals

West Fork girls basketball dropped two games last week, falling 76-35 to the seventh ranked team in Class 3A, the Forrest City Indians, on Tuesday, Dec. 2, and 44-34 to the Garner-Hayfield-Ventura Cardinals 44-34 on Thursday, Dec. 4. Those were two of the toughest games the Warhawks will play all season, and head coach Rodney Huber discussed how important it is to play against good teams and teams in higher classes.
 

Hampton-Dumont-CAL Boys Fall to Lake Mills in First Dual of Season

LAKE MILLS - The Hampton-Dumont-CAL (HDCAL) boys wrestling team lost their first dual of the year 43-34 to the Lake Mills Bulldogs on Tuesday, Dec. 2. Lake Mills jumped out to a 24-6 lead before HDCAL won three of the next five matches to trim the score to 31-22. Lake Mills would finish the night strong and pull away from HDCAL. Head coach of the Bulldogs, Colin Muler, was proud of the fight his team had in their first dual.
