FORT DODGE - Freshman on the West Fork girls' cross country team, MaKenna Dick, finished in 66th place overall out of 100 runners in the class 1A state cross country meet in Fort Dodge on Saturday, November 1. Dick finished the race with a time of 21 minutes, 13.4 seconds. Dick on her performance in the meet.

Hampton Native Finishes Sixth in College Conference Cross Country Meet

DUBUQUE - Former Hampton-Dumont-CAL (HDCAL) cross country runner Lydia Maas finished in sixth place in the American Rivers Conference (ARC) Cross Country Meet in Dubuque on Saturday, November 1. Maas runs cross country for Wartburg College, and finished the six kilometer race with a time of 22 minutes, 9.4 seconds. Maas on her performance in the ARC meet.

Bulldogs Cross Country Runs in State Qualifier Meet

GILBERT - The Hampton-Dumont-CAL boys and girls teams ran in the Class 3A state qualifying meet at the Iowa State Cross Country Course in Ames on Wednesday, Oct. 22. It was a great final run of the season, as nine of the 12 runners set a new season's best time, with six of those times being personal records.

Warhawks Take Down Huskies in Round One of State Playoffs

NASHUA - West Fork football continued their historic season with a thrilling 25-23 overtime victory over the Nashua-Plainfield Huskies in the first round of the Class A state playoffs. The win was the seventh win of the season for the Warhawks, the most wins in a season in program history. Warhawks' head coach Daniell Westoff on how big of a win that was for the program.

Bulldog Volleyball Drops Match to Norsemen in Region Tournament

STORY CITY - Hampton-Dumont-CAL volleyball lost their match 3-0 to the Roland-Story Norsemen in the Class 3A Region 5 quarterfinals. The Bulldogs lost the first set 25-14, the second set 25-12 and the third set 25-7.

Warhawk Volleyball Beats Broncos, Loses to Cyclones in Region Tournament

West Fork volleyball defeated the Belmond-Klemme Broncos 3-2 in the Class 2A Region 1 first round on Monday, Oct. 20, before losing 3-0 to the Denver Cyclones in the quarterfinals on Wednesday, Oct. 22.

Warhawk Freshman Makenna Dick Qualifies for State Cross Country Meet

MASON CITY - Freshman on the West Fork girls' cross country team Makenna Dick has qualified for the state cross country meet after finishing in ninth place overall im the state qualifier meet with a time of 20 minutes, 32.5 seconds. Dick's time set a new personal record and scored eight points for the girls team.

MacKenzy Valley Earns All Conference Honors in Conference Meet

ALGONA - Bulldogs sophomore MacKenzyy Valley earned All-Conference honors after finishing tenth place in the North Central Conference meet with a time of 21 minutes, 43.11 seconds on Tuesday, Oct. 14. Valley explained what this accomplishment means to her.
 

Bulldogs Defeat Wolverines on Senior Night

Hampton-Dumont-CAL football took down the Dike-New Hartford Wolverines 38-7 on senior night on Friday, Oct. 17. The win gave the Bulldogs a second place finish in the district and clinched a berth in the class 2A state playoffs for the first time since 2022. The Bulldogs were able to make big plays through the air all night, as sophomore quarterback Blaek Burmester threw for 239 yards with two passing touchdowns and no interceptions.

MASON CITY - Freshman Makenna Dick earned All-Conference honors after finishing in 14th place with a time of 22 minutes, 6.6 seconds in the Top of Iowa Conference cross country meet on Thursday, Oct. 16.

West Fork Ends Regular Season with Win Over Lake Mills

SHEFFIELD - West Fork football picked up a dominate 55-12 win over the Lake Mills Bulldogs in the last game of the regular season on Froday, Oct. 17. The Warhawks accumulated 396 yards of total offense, while holding the Bulldogs to just 199 yards of total offense. Junior quarterback Zander Hansen was 3-for-7 passing with 98 passing yards, one touchdown and no interceptions.

Brady Harr Commits to Iowa State Football

Hampton-Dumont-CAL senior Brady Harr has committed to Iowa State University to play football as a preferred walk-on. Harr will be in Ames next fall as a tight end. Harr is thrilled for the opportunity to play in major college football.
 

Bulldog Volleyball Comes Back from Two Sets Down to Defeat Cadets

IOWA FALLS- Hampton-Dumont-CAL volleyball defeated the Iowa Falls-Alden Cadets 3-2 in the volleyball version of the battle for Bradford on Thursday, October 9. The Bulldogs lost the first two sets before coming back to win the last three sets. Bulldogs' head coach Sarah Miller was proud of how her team battled in the match.
 

Bulldogs Drop District Game to Norsemen

The Hampton-Dumont-CAL football team lost to the Roland-Story Norsemen by a score of 36-7 at home on Friday, October 10. The Bulldogs were in the game at halftime, only trailing 14-7 at the break, but the Norsemen ran away with the game in the second half. Bulldogs' head coach, COle Miller, felt like the team played better than the final score indicated.
 

Bulldogs Cross Country Runs in Final Meet of Regular Season

LAKE MILLS - The Hampton-Dumont-CAL boys and girls' cross country teams ran in the Lake Mills Invitational in their last meet before the conference meet on Monday, October 6. The boys' team finished in fourth place out of seven qualified teams with a total score of 117 points, while the girls' team finished in third place out of three qualified teams with a total score of 59 points.

Warhawks Fall to Fifth Ranked Eagles

BRITT - The West Fork football team dropped a tough match up on the road to the fifth ranked team in class A, the West Hancock Eagles, by a score of 33-20 on Friday, October 10. Despite the loss, the Warhawks were able to play tough versus a very good team, as they came the closest they ever had come to beating the Eagles. It was the first time the Warhawks even scored points on the Eagles since 2020.
