Larry Osteen, age 93, passed away Monday, July 14, 2025 at his daughter’s home in Hampton. Private family burial will take place at a later date. Woodley Funeral Home and Crematory is caring for Larry and his family.
He was born in Memphis, Tennessee, on October 1, 1931, to Joseph and Jeannette Smith Osteen and grew up in Portageville, Missouri. One of three children, he was an Eagle Scout and valedictorian of the class of 1949.

Michael “Mike” G. Harris, age 77, of Sheffield, IA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at MercyOne North Iowa Hospital. Per his wishes, Mike will be cremated and a private family service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are with Fullerton Funeral Home.

David “Dave” Hicks, 78, of Ames and formerly of Hampton, Iowa passed away following a brief illness on Tuesday, July 22, 2025.

Gordon Sietsema, 89, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at Franklin Country View Nursing Facility. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hampton with burial in the Hampton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. on Tuesday at the Sietsema-Atkinson Funeral Home in Hampton.

John C. Howard, 50, of Dows, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Morgan United Methodist Church, 569 100th Street, rural Dows. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Dows.

Martha Wallace, age 82, passed away Friday, June 27, 2025 at Parker Place in Parkersburg. Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Friday, July 18, 2025 at Woodley Funeral Home in Hampton. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Martha will be laid to rest with a graveside inurnment at the Hampton Cemetery. Roger Irving Lacey, 84, of Sheffield, Iowa, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2025, at his home, in Sheffield surrounded by loved ones.
Born on April 25, 1941, in Mason City, Iowa, Roger was the son of William and Marie Lacey. He grew up in Hancock County and began his education at the country school Twin Lakes #1. He graduated from Meservey High School in 1958.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ronald Allen Whipple, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who left us peacefully at the age of 78 due to natural causes in his hometown of Hampton, Iowa. Ronnie’s warmth, humor, and unwavering strength will be cherished by all who knew him.

Marcee Sidmore passed away in the early morning hours of June 30th, 2025.  She fought the hard battle of cancer.  However, she is no longer in pain.  Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, July 7, at the Hampton United Methodist Church. Glenn Wendland, 73, of Iowa Falls, Iowa passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2025 surrounded by his family. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, June 21 at Adams Celebration of Life in Owasa, Iowa. Memorials in Glenn’s name may be made to the Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation. Lloyd M. “Smokie” Sorenson Jr., age 84, of Clearwater, died Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at the Annandale Care Center surrounded by his family.
