Lois Paula Stratmann, 89, of Hampton, passed away Saturday, November 13, 2021, surrounded by family at Franklin Country View Nursing Facility in Hampton. She was born January 28, 1932, in Detroit, Michigan, to Paul and Edna (Wendler) Kroeger.

Virginia June (Andersen) Hurd, 94, longtime resident of rural Alden/Popejoy, died peacefully at Scenic Manor in Iowa Falls, Iowa on November 14th, 2021.

Heath Wade Johnson, 42, of Hampton passed away on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at Franklin General Hospital in Hampton.
Heath was born October 31, 1979, in Hampton, to parents Hector Munoz and Carol Johnson. He worked at Miller Concrete in Hampton for a number of years. More recently he had been helping his brother out at the AmericInn.

Nancy K. Merkel, age 78, of Cushing, passed away on Friday, November 05, 2021 at the Correctionville Specialty Care of Correctionville.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. John’s Lutheran Church of Cushing with Pastor Bob Lewis officiating.  Burial will be held at later date the Memorial Park Cemetery of Mason City, IA.  A visitation will be held on Friday, November 12, 2021 from 5:00 p.m.

Dale Dixon, 86, of Hampton, passed away October 26, 2021 at his home in Hampton. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. on Monday, November 1, 2021 at the Hampton United Methodist Church with burial in the Hampton Cemetery. Frances Jean Christensen Seehusen was born October 25, 1927, in Hampton, Iowa, the only child of Sophus and Dagmar (Jacobsen) Christensen. She passed from this life on November 2, 2021, while a resident of Kennybrook Village in Grimes.

Mary Peter, 84, of Sheffield, passed away on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at the Sheffield Care Center. Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at the Sheffield First United Methodist Church with burial in the Hillside Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 12:15 p.m. until 2:15 p.m. at the church. A memorial fund has been established.

LeRoy William Benning, 85, of Ackley, Iowa, passed away Thursday, October 28, 2021, at Franklin Country View Nursing Facility in Hampton.
LeRoy was born on May 16, 1936, in Ackley, to Edward and Christina (Mehmen) Benning.  He was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in rural Geneva, and was very active there the remainder of his life.

Donald Dean Dyer, 84, of Naples Florida passed away on October 29, 2021.

Mark Carl Brown, 69, of Coulter, Iowa, passed away Monday, October 25, 2021, at MercyOne Hospice in Johnston. He was born June 11, 1952, in Hampton, Iowa, to Lowell and Lorna (Honold) Brown. 
Mark graduated from CAL Community High School in 1970 and went on to attend and graduate from Waldorf College in 1972.
