Waltraut "Wally" Tonjes, 91, of Tipton, Iowa, formerly of Hampton, passed away Monday, February 7, 2022, at UnityPoint Health - St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. A public visitation took place from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 11 at the Fry Funeral Home in Tipton. Funeral services were held immediately following the visitation.

Brenda Kay Oleson, 63, of Latimer, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at her home. Funeral services were held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, January 29, at the Immanuel United Church of Christ in Latimer. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Burial took place at the Marion Center Cemetery, rural Latimer.

Barbara Murra, 86, of Ackley, passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at her home in Ackley. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. on Monday, February 14, at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Ackley with burial in the Pleasant Hill Grant Township Cemetery. Visitation will be an hour before the service. Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of the Sietsema Funeral Home in Ackley. 

Barbara H. Jayne, age 88, of South Bethany Beach, DE formerly of Annapolis, MD passed away on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family.  

Betty Jane (Lilley) Engebretson, 101, of Sheffield, passed away peacefully at the Sheffield Care Center, February 1, 2022. Per her request, private family burial will be held at a later date.

Delores Bender, 91, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at Franklin Country View Nursing Facility in Hampton. 

Norma Irene Mittelstadt, 97, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away Monday, January 31, 2022, at Franklin General Hospital in Hampton, Iowa from complications of pneumonia. Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 3, at the Sietsema-Atkinson Funeral Home in Hampton with burial in the Hampton Cemetery. Visitation were from 4-6 p.m. on Wednesday at the Sietsema-Atkinson Funeral Home in Hampton.

Laura Ann McClain Kennedy Bell passed away Monday, January 31, 2022, at Mary Greely Medical Center in Ames, Iowa. The family will have a private graveside service at a later date. Nancy Carol (Johansen) Harkema, 87, of Latimer, passed away Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Franklin Country View Nursing Facility in Hampton. She was born August 26, 1934 in Anaheim, California, to Harry and Irene (Anderson) Roberts.
 

Marianne Armento, 73 of Springfield, IL, passed away on Monday January 17, 2022 at her home.  She was born on March 21, 1948, to Ervin and Margaret Meyer.
     She grew up on the family farm near Latimer, Iowa with her parents and older brother, Lawrence.    

Jerald Heitland, 68, of Iowa Falls, passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at MercyOne North Medical Center in Mason City. Funeral services are pending with the Surls Funeral Home in Iowa Falls. 

Joanne A. Nuehring, 85, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022, at Franklin General Hospital in Hampton. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at the Hampton United Methodist Church. The Counsell Woodley Funeral Home of Hampton is caring for Joanne and her family.

Fred Loren Baldwin, 79, of Dumont, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at UnityPoint Health – Allen Hospital in Waterloo. He was born on May 16, 1942, in Canton, Ohio, to Fred and Florence Baldwin Sr.

Fred attended elementary school in Canton, Ohio, Rantoul, Illinois, and San Francisco, California. He graduated from high school in Beaver Creek, Ohio. In college he majored in computer technology.

Selmar Johansen, former Hampton resident, passed away peacefully December 29, 2021 at his home in Roseville, CA. He was one month shy of his 103rd birthday. He was an active and involved man until the last few days of his life.
