Evelyn Jean Johnson (Meyer), 82, formerly of Latimer, Iowa passed away Monday, August 29, 2022, at Grand JiVante care center in Ackley, Iowa. She was born on September 25, 1939, in Woden, Iowa to Edwin and Eva Ruth (Valley) Meyer.

Steve Tjarks, 72, of Ackley, passed away on Monday, August 29, 2022 at Grand JiVante in Ackley. A private family service will be held. Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of the Surls Funeral Home in Iowa Falls.

Colleen Bahr, 83, of Buckeye passed away Thursday, August 25, 2022, at Mary Greely Medical Center in Ames, Iowa.

Chad Shaw, 51, of Garner, passed away on Friday, August 26, 2022 in an ATV accident in South Dakota. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 2, 2022 at The Dock in Clear Lake. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at The Dock in Clear Lake. Funeral services are under the guidance of the Sietsema-Atkinson Funeral Home in Hampton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for a later disbursement. 

Steve Hanson, 72, of Waverly and formerly of Hampton, passed away at his home in Wavery on Friday, August 26, 2022. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at the United Methodist Church in Hampton with burial in the Hampton Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at the Sietsema-Atkinson Funeral Home in Hampton.

Jeffrey Alan Johnson departed from this earth on September 5th, 2021, at the age of 61 while surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on November 23rd, 1959, in Iowa City, Iowa and was later adopted to Dale and Marion Johnson. He enlisted into the military after graduating from Hampton Community High School in 1978.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at First United Methodist Church in Sheffield, with burial at Hillside Cemetery in Sheffield. Visitation will take place at the church and start one hour prior to the service.

Jerry Atkinson, 79, of Des Moines, passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2022, at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center. Corine Ann Sudderberg was born on October 1, 1933 in Miles, Iowa to George and Lilith (Rice) Phelan. She graduated from Boone High School and then from Ellsworth Community College with her Associates Degree. On February 23, 1952, Corine was united in marriage to Donald Sudderberg in Boone. She would later marry John Tamminga on July 17, 2004. 

Christie Rae Brown, 59, of Dumont, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at Franklin General Hospital in Hampton.  A private family service will be held at the Dumont Cemetery.  Counsell Woodley Funeral Home of Dumont is handling the arrangements.  Christie Rae (Hemmen) Brown was born on December 11, 1962, in Hampton, to Harm Hemmen Jr. and Carma L.

 Family graveside services for Charles Schermer, 73, will be held 1:oo p.m., Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Marion Center Cemetery, rural Latimer, by Post 183, American Legion, Hampton, Iowa. He passed away at his home in Palmetto, Florida, June 20, 2022.
