The Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs faced off with a familiar foe in the first round of the district playoffs, going up against conference rival, Webster City Lynx in Hampton.  The Bulldogs and Lynx had split the regular season series 1-1, with both teams earning a win as the home team and the Bulldogs earning themselves the fourth seed in the class 3A district 2.  The Bulldogs entered the game with a 15-14 record and the Lynx at 15-15.  Both team

The Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldog softball team hosted a first round playoff game for the second year in a row.  The Bulldogs entered the game with a 7-16 record and faced the Garner-Hayfield-Ventura Cardinals with a 6-17 record.  The Bulldogs would earn the 4th seed in the class 3A regional 5 bracket.  

The Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldog baseball team has been playing tough baseball ever since the middle of June.  The Bulldogs have navigated through an arduous NCC schedule and a challenging non-conference schedule in a year that some viewed as a rebuilding one.  So, the final week of the season shaped up to be the Bulldogs toughest.

The Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldog softball team finished up their final week of the regular season with some formidable NCC opponents, as they prepared to begin the postseason regional tournament.  The Bulldog softball team will have a nice little break and time to prepare before they begin tournament play.  It was a solid season for a young team that grew and developed throughout.

The Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs are wrapping up the regular season and looking to climb the standing in the NCC race.  The Bulldogs will have to wait until Thursday June 29th to know their post-season pairing, but they are focused on continuing to play their best baseball and get healthy.  A week of rivalry games set the Bulldogs up for a tough final week of the season.  

The Hampton-Dumont-CAL softball team has been growing all season and is looking to play their best softball at the end of the season.  The Bulldog softball team also received their postseason pairing and will host Garner-Hayfield/Ventura on July 6th.  Coach Enslin has been making some position moves and adjustments to the line-up to prepare for the postseason.  

The Hampton-Dumont-CAL softball team has hit the middle of their season, and are growing with a young team.  The girls are learning as they go and will show flashes of being a good team, but then will show their youth with errors or mistakes.  The Bulldogs are battling within a tough NCC softball schedule.

The middle of June can be tough on a baseball team, with the team playing when other kids are at the lake, pool, or on vacation.  But despite the distractions, the Bulldog baseball team rattled off another winning week, going 4-1 and 2-0 in the NCC.  Coach Lokenvitz commented on the energy his players give to each other saying, “We have a good group of guys that even if they aren’t playing they are engaged in the game.  The energy from our dug

SHEFFIELD – Zander Hansen had three extra-base hits and six runs batted in Wednesday as the West Fork High School baseball team dominated Rockford 20-5.

SHEFFIELD – The West Fork High School softball team had a big week at the plate, averaging 15 runs per game in victories over Rockford, AGWSR and Northwood-Kensett.

The Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldog softball team is climbing in the North Central Conference standings as the team begins to mature on the field as a whole.  The young athletic Bulldogs look to continue to climb the conference standings behind speed and defense.  Coach Enslin is excited about the buy in of the young team and is happy to see the progress of the girls and marks in the win column.

SHEFFIELD – The West Fork softball team had a mixed week, topping Osage Monday and Nashua-Plainfield Friday while dropped a pair of games in between.
The Warhawks (7-4 overall, 3-3 Top of Iowa Conference East Division) topped Osage 2-1, fell to Riceville 4-3 and North Butler 8-3 and downed Nashua-Plainfield 9-2.

SHEFFIELD – The West Fork High School baseball team ralled from a four-run deficit to edge Clarksville 7-6 Thursday in non-conference play.
The Warhawks (2-9 overall, 1-6 Top of Iowa Conference East Division) also fell to Osage, North Butler and Nashua-Plainfield in conference play during a busy week.

The Hampton-Dumont-CAL baseball team entered the week without a win, but competed with some tough teams in the early part of its schedule.  Playing a tough opening schedule has forced the Bulldogs to compete while at the same time preparing them to go through a tough NCC schedule.  The Bulldogs looked to bounce back in the NCC with a pair of conference games.
