CLEAR LAKE— The Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs boys and girls track and field teams competed at the 3A State Qualifier at Clear Lake on May 9. The boys team took fourth place out of eight teams with a score of 72 and the girls team took sixth place out of eight teams with a score of 67 points.
Following last season which saw the West Fork Warhawks baseball team go 5-17 on the year, the Warhawks are looking to build off the season that saw their young team gain some needed experience.
HAMPTON—- The Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs boys soccer team improved to 7-6 on the year after defeating the Garner-Hayfield-Ventura Cardinals 2-1 at home on May 6. The Bulldogs had 58 shots, including 35 shots on goal.
Last year the Hampton-Dumont-CAL bulldogs baseball team finished the season exactly at .500 with a record of 15-15. This year head coach Matt Lokenvitz said that this year just like every other year the team has a goal set to win 20 games this season. Another goalie to get to the top half of the conference and compete to a district championship.
The season has been a rebuilding one for the West Fork Warhawks girls golf team as the team is heading into the Class 1A-Region 3B meet at Ridge Stone Golf Club on May 10. Head coach Abbie Emhoff said that the team had to deal with some adversity as they lost their No. 1 golfer, Katelyn Witte for the season due to a shoulder injury.
HAMPTON—- The Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs girls track and field team took fourth place out of eight teams at the North Central Conference meet on May 2 with a score of 79.5 points. In the 100-meter dash, Abby Drier took seventh place with a time of 13.77. In the 200-meter dash, Lily Hambly took sixth place with a time of 28.50.
The Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs girls tennis team took sixth place out of six teams at the North Central Conference meet at Dodger Tennis Courts on May 1. In singles, MaryJane Jensen lost both matches by the score of 8-1 and Mattelyn McGuire lost her first match 8-1 and her second match 8-0.
The Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs boys and girls team sent athletes to the 114th Drake Relays that ran from April 25- April 27. On the girls side Charlee Morton took first place in the shot put with a throw of 41-04.00. Morton also took first place in the discus with a throw of 141-02.
