SHEFFIELD—- It took all the way until the final inning, but the West fork Warhawks completed the comeback against the North Butler Bearcats to win 7-6 at home on June 5. The Warhawks are now 7-6 on the year.
ALLISON— The Hampton-Dumont-CAL bulldogs baseball team was in control early on and never looked back in their 14-0 win over the North Butler Bearcats on June 6. The Bulldogs are now 3-10 on the year.
While the season may not have gone the way the Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs would have liked as the team had a record of 0-14. But head coach Ben Schlachter said that a positive for the Bulldogs this year was how the team grew to trust each other more as the season went along as well as believing in themselves and their teammates.”
HAMPTON—- There was some drama at the end but the Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs baseball team earned their first win of the season after defeating the Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowboys 8-4 on May 29. The Bulldogs are now 1-7 on the year.
The West Fork Warhawks baseball team won both of their games this past week as the team moved to 2-1 on the year after a 3-2 win over Rockford on May 22 and a 10-0 win over Iowa Falls-Alden on May 23.
A goal for the Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs softball team according to head coach Kelsey Enslin is to be competing in every game this season. Last year the Bulldogs had a record of 8-17 and made it to the semifinals of the Class 3A region 5 tournament. Enslin said that the Bulldogs have been focusing a lot so far on details.
The season came to an end for the Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs boys soccer team following a 4-0 loss to Webster City in the Class 2A Substate 2 tournament on May 20. The boys team ends the season with a record of 8-8. Webster City led 2-0 at halftime and scored two more goals in the second half.
The Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs boys and girls track teams competed at the 3A state championship from May 16- May 18. The girls team finished in a tie for 13th place with a score of 20 points and the boys team did not score as a team.
