Morton takes first place at Drake Relays

The Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs boys and girls team sent athletes to the 114th Drake Relays that ran from April 25- April 27. On the girls side Charlee Morton took first place in the shot put with a throw of 41-04.00. Morton also took first place in the discus with a throw of 141-02. It was the second year in a row for Morton to take first place in the events at the relays.

On the boys side in the 100-meter dash prelims, Gavin Meader took 28th place with a time of 11.65.  In the 4x100-meter relay, the team of Gage Plagge, Tate Murray, Carson Hisler, and Gavin Meader took 50th place in the prelims with a time of 43.95. In the 4x200-meter relay, the team of Plagge, Murray, Hisler, and Meader took 19th place with a time of 1:31.20.

The boys team’s next meet is on May 2. at the North Central Conference meet at Clarion-Goldfield-Dows at 5 p.m. The girls team’s next meet is on May 2. at Hampton-Dumont-CAL at 5 p.m.
