Last year was a strong season for the West Fork Warhawks boys basketball team, which saw the team make it all the way to the Class 1A Substate 3 championship game before ending the season in the Substate championship game with a record of 20-5. The Warhawks are getting ready for the upcoming season.
The Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs girls wrestling team is preparing for the upcoming season. Head coach Brittany Stevens said that the Bulldogs are focusing on building the team from the ground up this year.
With the season approaching the Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs boys wrestling team, head coach Patrick Hansen said that the Bulldogs bring back a large nucleus of the team from last year with around 15 kids that earned varsity letters returning. Hansen said that like always that the team has high expectations this year.
Following a successful season last year that saw the West Fork Warhawks girls basketball team advance to the second round of the Class 2A Region 2 tournament and the year with a record of 13-10. The Warhawks are getting ready to go even further this season.
The season may not have gone the way the West Fork Warhawks football team would have liked as the team ended the season with a record of 2-7. But head coach Daniel Westhoff said that while the team was a little disappointed with the final record, that the team did take some steps forward.
Heading into the upcoming season, the Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs girls basketball team are getting ready for the season. Head coach Miranda Stafford said that one goal for the team is to start the season ready to go as the team had a slow start last season.
SHEFFIELD—- The season came to an end for the West Fork Warhawks football team after falling to the BCLUW Comets 39-20 on Oct. 25. The Warhawks end the season with a record of 2-7.
JEWELL JUNCTION—- The West Fork Warhawks boys and girls cross country teams competed at the Class 1A State Qualifier meet at Jewell Golf and Country Club on Oct. 24.
HAMPTON—-- The Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs football team kept in close for most of the game but the Bulldogs fell to the Algona Bulldogs 31-6 on Oct. 25. Hampton-Dumont-CAL ends the season with a record of 3-6 on the year.
WAVERLY—-- The Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs cross country teams competed at the State Qualifier 3A meet at Max Championship Cross Country Course on Oct. 23.
