Warhawks Girls Fall to Knights for Third Consecutive Loss

SHEFFIELD - The West Fork girls basketball team fell to the Newman Catholic Knights by a score of 56-37 on Friday, Dec. 12, the third loss in a row for the Warhawks.. This came after their game at Northwood-Kensett on Tuesday, Dec. 9 was postponed due to weather. The Warhakws couldn't overcome a strong shooting night from the Knights as they knocked down six three pointers at a 33% clip. Head coach of the Warhawks, Rodney Huber, discussed the three-game losing streak against three tough teams.

"Yea, it's been tough, especially with a young, inexperienced team," he said. "The great thing is, it can get easier from here. Hopefully, it will make the games coming see a lot easier and the games feel slower for our players."

Senior Brylee Dickman led the Warhawks with 11 points. Sophomore Mya Marzen scored 10 points, freshman Dazie Huff scored eight points, junior Evelyn Hitzhusen scored six points and junior Maesy Mayland scored three points.

The Warhawks are now 1-3 on the season and 0-1 in conference play. The Warhawks hosted Central Springs on Tuesday, Dec. 16 and their next game is on Friday, Dec. 19 when they host Saint Ansgar at 6:15 p.m.
