Mahler, Wikert and Moats make NCC All-Conference Team

The 2025 all-conference baseball teams for the North Central Conference have been announced. Thirty-five total players made up the first, second and third teams, with three Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs being selected. Senior Taylor Mahler and senior Dawson Wikert were the two Bulldogs that made second team all-conference while senior Jaxon Moats made third team all-conference. 

Mahler was one of the best hitters for the Bulldogs’, hitting for a .286 batting average and a .402 on-base percentage with 18 singles, three doubles and one triple while driving in three runs at the plate. Mahler played mainly second base for the Bulldogs and finished with a .832 fielding percentage and committed 19 errors. 

Wikert was a weapon on the mound and at the plate for the Bulldogs. As a pitcher, Wikert had a 2-5 record and posted a team-low 3.17 earned run average (ERA). Wikert also struck out a team-high 40 batters while issuing 15 walks. As a batter, Wikert led the team with a .304 batting average and posted a .368 on-base percentage with 19 singles, three doubles, one triple and one home run, collecting a team-high 16 runs batted in (RBI).. When Wikert didn’t pitch he played first base and had a .984 fielding percentage, only committing two errors. 

 

Moats also had a very good year as a pitcher and a hitter. On the mound, Moats pitched to a 2-5 record and a 4.45 ERA, with 25 strikeouts and eight walks. At the plate Moats hit .200 with a .259 on-base percentage and collected five hits, three singles and two doubles with two RBIs.
