Despite the heat and humidity, Hampton Tree Board members are volunteering their time this morning to work on the trees in Harriman Park, spraying them with herbicide control and mulching to help hold the moisture on the trees.
Randy Sanders said they'll plant 50 more trees around farmsteads and the city this season — around 40 for their treeline street tree program and 10 for the city. This includes replacements for various trees that have died.
Sanders said he hopes they can secure more funding for next spring.
