A group of eight Hampton-Dumont high schoolers have been spending time with their younger peers over the last month in a student-led program to curb bullying in the middle school.
The program was spearheaded by H-D senior Katelyn Proctor, who was inspired to get involved after seeing how middle school bullying was affecting her own younger family member. Traditionally, bullying has been thought of in more direct terms, but the cliché of stuffing a kid in a locker or openly taunting has largely become a thing of the past.
