First Bank Hampton (FBH), through the generous support of the A.M. and Helen L. Saylor Foundation, made a donation of $5,300 to La Luz Centro Cultural.

The contribution presented will directly support La Luz’s mission to sustain and enhance essential services for those in the community.

The grant is earmarked for software maintenance costs, supporting essential indirect costs of operation, and establishing a flexible emergency fund for clients facing urgent needs. These resources are vital for the organization to continue providing high-quality assistance and to respond effectively to the evolving needs of those they serve.

During the check presentation, representatives from First Bank Hampton emphasized their commitment to empowering La Luz’s leadership to determine the best use of the funds. “While the donation is intended to cover the specific areas outlined in the grant application, we want La Luz to feel free to use these funds in any way they believe will best serve their institution and clients,” stated Dave Heuberger, Chairman of the Board at First Bank Hampton.

“We are incredibly grateful for the support of First Bank Hampton and the A.M. and Helen L. Saylor Foundation,” said Janette Acolt, Director at La Luz Centro Cultural. “This funding allows us to continue providing critical services to our community and helps ensure we can respond to the unpredictable needs of our clients.”

First Bank Hampton’s ongoing support shows its dedication to building stronger, more inclusive community.
