This Sunday will mark the end of a storied era for an Alexander church.
At 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, the church will hold decommissioning service for the Alexander United Methodist Church. The service will include worship, a time of prayer and praise, communion and an address by Carol Kress, the district superintendent. Mementos, books and pictures will also be out for congregation members to see.
Pastor Alaire Willits said the decision to decommission the building was not an easy one, but necessary to accommodate the times.
