Dallas Kothenbeutel

Dallas Kothenbeutel, 79, of St. Charles, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at AccentCare Inpatient Hospice Center in Naperville, Illinois. A visitation will be held from 12:00 until 1:30 p.m. with a time of sharing at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, November 21, 2025, at the Sietsema-Atkinson Funeral Home in Hampton. Burial will follow at the Hampton Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of the Sietsema-Atkinson Funeral Home in Hampton.
Dallas Kothenbeutel was born on December 27, 1945, in Hampton, Iowa, to Kenneth and Marie (Lorenzen) Kothenbeutel. He graduated from Hampton High School, where he was active in football, basketball, and track, and went on to earn a degree in Physical Education and Science from Luther College.
At Luther, Dallas was a three-year starter on the football team, earning All-Conference and All-Lutheran honors his senior year. A lifelong sports enthusiast, he also enjoyed softball and golf after college.
Dallas was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing on area lakes and bow and rifle hunting for deer and small game. He had a special talent for spotting eagles in flight and took great joy in nature. A skilled carpenter, Dallas built several award-winning decks through his carpentry business.
On July 17, 2008, Dallas was united in marriage to Pamela Kay Willing Peterson in Geneva, Illinois.
Dallas is survived by his wife, Pamela, of St. Charles, Illinois; brother Robert Kothenbeutel of Camano Island, Washington; sister Linda (James) Schafer of Greene, Iowa; step-daughters Stacey Peterson of Kings, Illinois, and Shannon (Russell) Coulombe of Cortland, Illinois; step-son Chad Peterson of San Jacinto, California; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Larry, and his special dog, Jack.
