Carol Luecht
Carol Luecht, 86, of Sheffield, passed away Saturday, September 28, 2024, at the Sheffield Care Center. A Celebration of her life will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 12 at Zion St. John Lutheran Church, Sheffield, with Rev. G Kim Wills presiding. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery, Sheffield. Visitation will be 1 hour before the service at the church. Woodley Funeral Home and Crematory, Hampton is caring for Carol and her family.
Carol M. Luecht was born October 18, 1937, at Devil’s Lake, ND, a daughter of Arnold and Margaret (Kirkeby) Arneson. The family moved to Joice, Iowa where she graduated Joice High School with the class of 1955.
Carol was united in marriage December 20, 1958, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Joice with Marlyn Luecht. While he was studying pharmacy they lived in Iowa City. They lived a short time in Keokuk then moved to Mason City, relocating to Sheffield in 1977.
Carol worked at Target for 35 years before retiring, starting as seasonal help, eventually becoming an office manager. She was a long time member of Zion St. John Lutheran Church. When Ridge Stone Golf Club opened in Sheffield Carol was hostess. She enjoyed golfing and meeting there to play bridge with her friends.
Carol is survived by her children: Michael Luecht, Bremerton, Washington; Lori (Monty) Schmale, Meservey; Eric (Marni) Luecht, Phoenix, AZ; 5 grandchildren: Derek (Shantel) Schmale and son Wyatt; Cara (Jon) Evans and daughter Hayden; Lauren (fiance Elliott Loomis Howard) Luecht; Citori (fiance Zane Bilous) Luecht; Annika Luecht; and many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.
Preceding her in death are her parents, husband, Marlyn Luecht, sister Clarice Hagen, and brother Curtis Arneson.
