Jerri Grefe was appointed to fill the vacant Ward IV seat of the Hampton City Council during their regular meeting on Thursday, June 23.
The Ward IV seat has been vacant since Steve Birdsall was appointed Mayor. His replacement will finish the council term through 2023.
Grefe and Steve Proodian both applied for the vacant position and were interviewed by the council during the workshop session on the previous Monday.
"Both candidates are very capable and both candidates work hard for Hampton," said council member Dick Lukensmeyer.
