The latest adaptation of "Dune" is out and it's apparently pretty popular. I'm seeing lots of headlines about how the movie is topping the box office over strong competitors like… whatever else released this week.
It's kind of a hollow accolade. Okay, sure, it's great that it had a strong opening weekend in a post-COVID world, and it's even doing really well for a hybrid theatrical/streaming release, but topping the box-office when you're the only new movie of note is hardly headline worthy.
Anyway, back to "Dune."
I've never seen "Dune."
