Margaret Jeanette Myers, 81

Margaret Jeanette Myers, 81, died suddenly at her home in Sun City West, Arizona on January 31, 2021.  A celebration of life will be held Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Reformed Church of Alexander.

Margaret was born October 30, 1939 to parents Herman and Blanche "Kieslich" Janssen at their farm home northwest of Hampton, Iowa.  Margaret was baptized at Zion Reformed Church, Sheffield, Iowa and attended Sunday School there.  She attended Plain View Country School through 2nd grade, Chapin Consolidated School through 6th grade, and graduated from Alexander High School with the Class of 1957.  Margaret worked for Coonley Law Office in Hampton, Iowa.  She married Kae Myers of Alexander, Iowa on July 8, 1960.  They lived in Lawton, Oklahoma where Kae was in the Army at Fort Sill.  Margaret worked as a secretary at an insurance company and at Fort Sill as secretary for the Adjutant General.  They moved to Altus, Oklahoma in 1963 where Kae opened a Volkswagen repair business.  Margaret worked for FmHA.   In Altus they raised their sons, Neil and Allan.   Margaret became very active in their church, Grace United Methodist of Altus.  She was secretary at the church for several years.  After Margaret retired from FmHA, she worked for Community Action of Altus.  In later years she volunteered at Grace Day Child Care. Kae and Margaret moved to Sun City West in 2016 to be near their sons.  Margaret was a gracious lady who loved doing for others.  She was always willing to help anyone in need of help.

Survived by husband Kae Myers, Sun City West, son Neil Myers of Sun City West, son Allan [Kelly] Myers, and granddaughter Holly of Phoenix, sister: Rebecca Ellingston, Belmond, IA; brothers:  Clyde [Kathy] Janssen, Mason City, IA, Ralph [Jan] Janssen of Lake Kiowa, TX; sister-in-law: Kathryn Janssen of Waverly, IA; brothers-in-law:   Lon [Marge] Myers of Phoenix, AZ, Glen Myers of Altus, OK, Kent [Roz] Myers of Sun City, AZ; sister-in-law: Mary Beth Haan of Sun City West, AZ; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Predeceased by parents Herman and Blanche Janssen; siblings: Harry Janssen, Harvey [Hope] Janssen, Mae Ferne [Fred] Wenzel, Walter [Pearl] Janssen; brother-in-law: Ray Ellingston; parents-in-law: Kenneth and Nellie Myers; brother-in-law: Larry Myers.
