Mary Jo Rindels, 86

Mary Jo Rindels, 86, of Bristow, passed away on Friday, June 11, 2021 at the Franklin General Hospital. Visitation will be on Friday, June 18, 2021 at the Sietsema-Atkinson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Saturday June 19, 2021 at the Sietsema-Atkinson Funeral Home in Hampton with burial to follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Bristow. 

Mary Jo Rindels was born on January 16, 1935 to Lester Carlin and Helen Carlin in Dumont. She graduated from Dumont High School in 1953. She was united in marriage to Vernon Rindels on October 18, 1956. To this union they raised four children. In their years of marriage, she and her husband owned and operated a couple cafes. She was a very good cook and enjoyed doing that. She worked at Franklin General Hospital as a cook in the kitchen.

Mary Jo is survived by her husband of 64 years, Vernon, her children Vicky (Kevin) Reints of Allison, Deb Jacobs (Brett) of Aplington, Janet (Wayne Pecha of Dumont, Brad (Cheri) Rindels of Bristow and her brother Gary (Sharon) Carr of Des Moines, sister-in-law Janice (Shellon) Kroeze of Janesville, 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. 

She is preceded in death by her father Lester (Dallie) Carlin, her mother Helen (Blohm) Carr and uncle Carrie and Henry Freeze, her father and mother-in-law Richard and Anna Rindels.
