Karen Ruth Lehman, 76, passed away June 2, 2021 at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines, IA.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 7, 2021 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ankeny, IA (1100 SE Sharon Dr.). A second funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Latimer, IA (304 W Main St.) with burial immediately following at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.

Karen was born March 11, 1945 in Hampton, IA to Elmer and Alvina (Pralle) Honold. She graduated from Cal High School in Latimer, IA in 1963, then went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology at the University of Iowa. She then attended the University of Santa Clara in California and graduated with a Masters degree in Special Education. She was a special education teacher until she retired in 2015.

She married Paul L. Lehman on November 12, 1966, and they had two children. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling and traveled to 48 States in her lifetime.

Karen is survived by her husband, Paul; children, Tracie Ann Richardson and Jason Paul Lehman; granddaughters, April Richardson, Julie Richardson, and Annabella Lehman; and brothers, Marvin Honold, Franklin Honold, and Vernon Honold. She is preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Lorna Brown.
