Kathryn Mae Andersen, 71

Kathryn Mae Andersen, 71, of Hampton, passed away Sunday, December 6, 2020, at her home in Hampton.  She was born September 19, 1949, in Iowa Falls, to Vernon and Iva (Brown) Jacobson.

Kathy attended schools in Iowa Falls.  She was united in marriage to Michael Andersen on May 5, 1972, at the Open Bible Church in Iowa Falls.  Kathy worked as a nurse’s aide for many years and most recently worked for Access in Hampton for ten years.  She was a member of the Open Bible Church in Iowa Falls and enjoyed cooking, playing cards and visiting with others.

Kathy is survived by her husband Mike Andersen of Hampton; son Corey Andersen of Urbandale; grandsons Calvin Andersen of Las Vegas, Nevada and Kayden Andersen of Mason City; sisters Sharon Smith of Marion, Valeta Ostrander of Johnston and Janet (Don) Wall of Des Moines; and brother-in-law Dick (Marty) Andersen of Albert Lea, Minnesota.

She was preceded in death by her parents Vernon and Iva Jacobson.

A private family graveside service was held in the Hampton Cemetery.

The Sietsema Vogel Funeral Home of Hampton assisted Kathryn's family.
