Kale Folkerts, Hope Baltes named King and Queen

Homecoming week formally began for Hampton-Dumont-CAL students Sunday with a slew of activities. At the heart of the celebration Sunday was the coronation of this year’s Homecoming King and Queen, which went to Kale Folkerts and Hope Baltes, respectively.

The court also included King candidates Mario De La Cruz, Riley Heeren, Max O’Dell and Benji Sauke. Queen candidates were Emma Aalbers, Katelyn Proctor, Roxie Valenzuela and Elle Westhoff.

Sunday’s activities also included the decoration of hallways at the high school and windows of downtown businesses as well as the Powderpuff football and aftershave volleyball games.

The festivities continue tomorrow night, Thursday, with the community tailgate from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the high school parking lot.

A parade and pep rally for students only will be held Fri-day prior to the football game against Forest City at 7:30 p.m.
