It's been a grand decade for singing in Hampton.
On Saturday, March 7, musical enthusiasts from around Franklin County gathered at Faith Baptist Church for the Franklin County Arts Council's 10th annual Young Performing Artist Scholarship Benefit Concert.
The concert series originated in 2010 with famed Iowa native opera singer Simon Estes visiting Hampton to kick off his "Roots and Wings" concert tour. Every year since then, the arts council has invited young musical artists to perform in Hampton for a benefit concert that funds local artistic scholarships.
