Coaches vs. Cancer event is a big success

Saturday’s Coaches vs. Cancer events held in conjunction with the Hampton-Dumont-CAL vs. West Fork basketball games brought in over $6,500, according to Franklin County Relay For Life Chairman Sheri Bogue.

Proceeds from Saturday’s events will go toward the Franklin County Relay For Life, which will be held Friday evening, July 24 at the Hampton Band Shell Park.

“We had a very good day, including having 40 items on our silent auction table and serving approximately 150 people for lunch,” Bogue said.

“Everyone seemed to have a good time. Additional money will continue to come in from the event,” she added.

According to Bogue, preliminary totals raised from the event include the following:

• Soup lunch — $580.25

• Local sponsorship — $450

• Bucket run — $804.40

• Wall of Hope — $42.10

• West Fork Girls Free Throw Challenge — $620

• West Fork Boys Free Throw Challenge — $1,334.50

• Silent Auction — $2,556

• T-shirts — $156.40

• Grand Total so Far — $6,543.65
