Last week’s Hampton-Dumont Board of Education meeting marked the start of a new era for the board.

The school board on Wednesday held its annual organizational meeting to elect leadership and swear in board members who were elected in November. New to the board this year are Mark Morrison, who took an at-large seat in the Hampton district and Steve Severs, who won election for the Dumont seat. Incumbents Erran Miller and Tom Birdsell were also sworn in after winning reelection to another term.

Following the swearing in oaths, the board elected its president and vice president for the year. The board unanimously voted to maintain Chad Hanson and Erran Miller as president and vice president, respectively.
