A visitation for Bill Smith of Dumont will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday, March 12, 2022, at the Counsell Woodley Funeral Home in Dumont.

William Earl Smith Jr., 65, of Dumont, passed away February 4, 2022, at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City. He was born on November 15, 1956, in Nevada, Iowa, to Earl and Emma Smith.

William, known by many as Bicycle Bill, enjoyed working on small engines, bicycling, photography, and telling jokes. He had a special talent of woodworking and enjoyed assembling and painting model cars and trucks, along with various other craft projects. Bill also enjoyed grilling for friends.

Bill is survived by his daughters, Brianna Smith and Rene Smith; siblings, John (Margita) Smith, Kaye (Charlie) Henry, Earnie Smith, Penny (Terry) McCaslin, and Henry (Diane) Smith; as well as ten nieces and nephews and their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Emma Smith.
