New H-D football coach displays enthusiasm

HAMPTON – Andy Bruemmer can be called a patient man.
He waited 27 years between applying for the Hampton-Dumont head football coaching job and after Monday’s school board meeting, was officially approved to take over in 2019.
“I’m familiar with Hampton,” Bruemmer said. “This is the second time I applied, I did 26-27 years ago when Jerry (Shafrath) got the job. My family has friends there – the Marquards are a family friend of ours. I’ve known of Hampton and I’m excited to get in, get there, get started and have good success.”
