Mildred C. (Paullus) Pingel

Mildred C. (Paullus) Pingel passed away Friday, December 20, 2024 at the Hubbard Care Center at the age of 98. She was born April 19, 1926 to Fred and Clara Paullus of Hampton, IA. She was the 5th of six children. She had three brothers, Ralph, Robert and Rex and has two sisters Marie and Phyllis. Mildred attended Hampton High School and graduated in 1944.

After graduation she married Harold J. Neubauer on October 13, 1945. They raised four children: Joan, Norman, John and Patty. After her divorce from Harold in 1959, she began working at Maytag in Hampton, IA. Mildred met Robert Pingel and they were married on December 7, 1963 in Sioux Falls, SD and added two stepsons, Leslie and Jeffrey. She continued to work at Maytag for over 25 years until she retired on March 31, 1985.

Mildred was a kind, independent and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and attending church. Mildred wanted a simple life, and she had a love for animals and working in her yard.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Clara Paullus; husbands, Harold Neubauer and Robert Pingel; brothers: Ralph, Robert, and Rex Paullus; stepsons Leslie and Jeffrey Pingel; and grandson Joseph Michael Louis.

Mildred is survived by her two sisters, Marie Rodemeyer and Phyllis Herman; four children, Joan (Lonnie) Hoelscher of Hubbard, IA, Norman (Dixie) Neubauer of Blencoe, IA, John (Kathy) Neubauer of Hampton, IA, and Patty (Kevin) Neubauer of Ames, IA; eight grandchildren: Warren and Brian Hoelscher, Amy Cummins, Niki Robles, Crystal Harlan, Erin Neubauer, Nicholas Neubauer and Megan Louis; fourteen great-grandchildren, Madeline Raza, Izzy, Charlie and Natalie Hoelscher, Claire Cummins, Jacob and Anna Robles, Nathan Harlan, Sydney Meyer, Ava Leedom, Emma and Liam Neubauer, Jadden Strader and Maddison Jo Louis; many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by everyone. 

Services will be held on Friday, December 27th, 10:30 am at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 16 12th Ave NE,  Hampton, IA  50441.

Burial will take place in the Hampton Cemetery, 521 4th St NE, Hampton, IA 50441 followed by lunch at Church.
