Lurlin Edward Schermer

Lurlin, (Ed) Schermer, passed away at his home in Charles City on Friday, October 10, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

A private burial will be held at a later date.

Lurlin was born on January 11, 1941, in Iowa Falls, IA. He was the son of the late Edward W. and Garnet (Neubauer) Schermer. On December 10, 1960. Lurlin married the love of his life, Judith Miller in Dumont, IA. He worked at Hiland Potato Chip Company for many years before moving on to Davis Oil Company where he retired from. Lurlin enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, doing yard work, and playing cards.

Those left to cherish Lurlin’s memory is his wife, Judith of Charles City; his son, Michael (Ann) Schermer, of Fertile, IA; his grandchildren, Cassandra, Clare, and Matt (Kylie); four great-grandchildren; his siblings, Lynn (Susan) Schermer, of Little Rock, AR, Loren (Sue) Schermer, of Hampton, IA, and JoEllen (Lynn) Arends, of Hampton, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents.
