Lois D. Brinkman

Lois D. Brinkman, 83, of Lone Tree, formerly of Sheffield, passed away Friday, February 7, 2025, at Pioneer Park in Lone Tree. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Zion St. John Lutheran Church in Sheffield. Memorial services will begin at 11:00 a.m. with a luncheon to follow. Lois will be laid to rest at Hillside Cemetery in Sheffield. Woodley Funeral Home and Crematory of Hampton is caring for Lois and her family.

Lois Deann Brinkman was born June 17, 1941, in Lake City, the daughter of Rex and Violet “Adelyn” (Lindquist) Miller. She attended Iowa State Teachers College. On July 14, 1963, Lois was united in marriage to Martin Junior Brinkman in Gowrie. To this union, two sons were born. Lois and Marty owned and operated Marty’s Saloon in Sheffield, which was a strong supporter and staple of the Sheffield community.

Lois was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling across the country to cheer on her sons’ and grandsons’ sporting events. Her family, immediate and extended, meant everything to her. She looked forward to her morning coffee with her “crews”. Lois was a faithful member of the Sheffield community and Zion St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Lois is survived by her sons: Michael (Carla) Brinkman of North Liberty and Matthew (Jamie) Brinkman of Council Bluffs; grandsons: Dylan (Alex) Frascht of Urbandale, Mason Brinkman of Midvale, Utah, Jacob (McKenzie) Brinkman of Omaha, Nebraska, Mitchell (Abbey) Brinkman of St. Augustine, Florida, and Jared Brinkman of North Liberty; great-grandchildren: Beckett and Fynlee Frascht, Ryker Brinkman and Callan Brinkman; brother Dale Miller of Gowrie; sisters-in-law: Ina Brinkman, Carol Miller and Darla Miller; brother-in-law Jerry Paullin; along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Marty Brinkman; brothers: Lloyd and Dennis Miller; sister Margaret Paullin; parents-in-law Martin and Meta Brinkman; and several brothers- and sisters-in-law.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Brinkman family for disbursement within the Sheffield community.
