Leonard Henry Pralle, 92

Leonard Henry Pralle, 92, of Latimer, passed away Sunday, October 24, 2021, at Franklin Country View Nursing Facility in Hampton. He was born May 23, 1929, at the Hampton Lutheran Hospital, the son of George and Malinda (Dohrmann) Pralle.

Leonard attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School in Latimer until the eighth grade and graduated from Latimer High School. He was united in marriage to Kathleen Buseman on September 20, 1950, in Dumont. To this union, two sons were born: Terry and Alan.

Leonard farmed near Latimer until 1976 and worked at Sukup Manufacturing, Amsterdam Poultry and Country Corners LTD until his retirement. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Latimer. Leonard loved fishing. He took fishing trips to different lakes in Minnesota several times each summer, enjoyed taking his grandsons fishing at rivers and lakes around the area, and enjoyed taking his friends fishing at Clear Lake. Leonard loved working word puzzles and reading the encyclopedias. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan and loved attending his grandchildrens’ events.

Leonard is survived by his wife Kathleen Pralle of Latimer; sons Terry Pralle of Iowa Falls and Alan (Annette) Pralle of Goodell; grandchildren Andrea (Kent) Hickman of Alden, Chad (Amy) Pralle of Flippin, Arkansas, Sara (Ryan) Schlichting of Lake Elms, Minnesota, Justin (Shawna) Pralle of Klemme, Adam Pralle of Hampton and Lana (Kevin) Krefting of Urbandale; 14 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ivan Pralle and sister Lola Jean Pralle.

Visitation was held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at the Sietsema Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 28, 2021, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Latimer. Burial took place in the St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Latimer.
