Lale Burmester, 66

Lale Burmester, 66, a lifelong resident of Hampton, passed away Thursday, August 19, 2021, at Franklin General Hospital in Hampton.

Lale Macy Burmester was born on February 5, 1955, in Hampton, to Harold and Marvel (Bjelland) Burmester.  He graduated from Hampton High School in 1973, and then attended NIACC and Iowa State University.  Lale married Connie Stalheim on March 22, 1980; to this union, two daughters were born, Melissa and Lindsay.  Their marriage later ended in divorce.

Lale was an avid golfer, enjoyed fishing, followed the Minnesota Vikings and loved spending time with his family and his dog Jax.  He was a Christian man and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hampton. 

Lale was a MacGyver and Jack of all trades.  He owned Burmester Equipment, and previously farmed with his dad Harold.   

Lale leaves behind his daughters Melissa (Rusty) Schmidt of Clear Lake and Lindsay (Aaron) Royster of Duncombe, mother Marvel Burmester of Hampton, sister Lucy (Randy) Oehlert of Hampton, brother Fred (Lori) Burmester of Grundy Center, sister Lynette (Guy) Rustad of Lakeville, Minnesota, grandchildren Rylan and Collan Kuhn and Easton and Emersyn Royster, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.

He was preceded in death by his dad Harold Burmester.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Lale’s family.

A memorial service was held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, August 23, 2021, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hampton.  A visitation was held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, August 22, 2021, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hampton.  The Sietsema Vogel Funeral Home of Hampton cared for Lale and his family.
