Juanita M. “Janie” Rocha, 79

Juanita M. “Janie” Rocha, 79, of Hampton, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at Franklin General Hospital in Hampton.  She was born on August 29, 1942, in Manly, to Joseph Ruiz Mejia and Petra Rodriguez.

Janie graduated from Hampton High School.  She married Arturo Rocha on December 31, 1977, in Hampton. 

Janie worked for the Rehabilitation Center of Hampton as a CNA (certified nurses aid) for over thirty years.  She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Hampton.  Janie loved to cook for her family & friends and listening to Elvis music. She also enjoyed reading the local newspaper and novels.

Family was very important to Janie and she loved being with them.  Janie is survived by her husband Art Rocha of Hampton, brother Ray Mejia of Manly, sister Angie (Karl) Langwell of Nixa, Missouri, brother Jim (Shirley) Mejia of Hampton, brother Felix (Bettylou) Mejia of Tiffin, brother Joseph (Carol) Mejia of Maple Grove, Minnesota, sister Patty Fitz of Eden Valley, Minnesota, along with numerous nieces and nephews and all of their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Petra, in-laws Gregorio and Antonia Rocha, brother Patrick Mejia, sister Vacilla, brother and sister, both in infancy, Tina Marie and Franislado.  

Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, December 6, 2021, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Hampton.  Visitation was held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, December 5, 2021, at Sietsema Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton, followed by a Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m.
