John William Donaldson, 84

John William Donaldson, 84, of Hampton, NH died April 25, 2021 after a battle with cancer. Born in Hampton Iowa, June 17, 1936, he was the son of the late Jeanette (Herriott) and Clarence Donaldson.

Jack was a 1954 graduate of Hampton (IA) High School. He received his B.A. from Iowa State College in 1959, and his M.Ed. from Northeastern University in 1969. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. 

Jack taught at Winnacunnet High School for 38 years. He and his wife Barbara coached the WHS cheerleading team from 1984-1999. He was a member and past Worshipful Master of St. James Lodge #102 in Hampton, NH. He served the Town of Hampton for 50 years as a Special Patrolman.

Besides his wife of 57 years Barbara, he is survived by his brother David Donaldson of Johnston, IA, his daughter Susan Collins and her husband Timothy of Seabrook, NH; his son Sean and his wife Andrea of Newmarket, NH; and his grandchildren: Ainsley Collins, Duncan Collins, and Ian Donaldson. 

A memorial service will be held Sunday, May 16, 2021, at 1:30pm, at Winnacunnet High School’s Chief Michael Maloney Outside Classroom, 1 Alumni Drive, Hampton, NH. A reception will be held immediately following the service from 2:30pm-4pm. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend either or both.
