Ida Fahrmann

Ida Fahrmann, 75, of Latimer, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City. Funeral services was 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 28, 2024 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Latimer with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation was from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Latimer. Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of the Sietsema-Atkinson Funeral Home in Hampton. 

Ida Jane Fahrmann was born on February 6, 1949, in Burlington, Iowa to Wayne and Virginia (Baugher) Williams. Ida was baptized April 13, 1952. She grew up on the family farm in rural Danville. Ida graduated from Danville High School in 1967 and then from Iowa State University in 1971 with a degree in education. Ida went on to marry Dean Fahrmann in 1975 and later divorced. Ida was the proud mother of two sons, Paul of Latimer and the late Bradley.

Ida was an active member of the church and community. Some of the activities she was involved in include Latimer Park Society, multiple book clubs, Questers, many card groups, LWML and served on the St. Paul’s school board. Ida’s favorite activity was attending her grandchildren’s events.

Ida taught at Cal for two years then went on to work for the US Postal Service as a rural mail carrier that she then retired from.

Ida is survived by her son Paul Fahrmann, father of Mitchell, Grace and Maggie Fahrmann, sister Irene and Boyd Dohrmann and nieces and nephews. Ida was preceded in death by her son Bradley Wayne Fahrmann, parents Wayne and Virginia Williams and brother Stephen Williams.
