Holly Narber, State Farm provide supplies to local schools

The Hampton State Farm office made sure students at Hampton-Dumont-CAL schools have the supplies they need as the school year starts.

Holly Narber, State Farm Insurance Agent, said the of-fice donated 96 total supply packets, which include notebooks, folders, glue sticks and writing and drawing utensils, to H-D-CAL and Clari-on-Goldfield-Dows schools. The office also included additional notebooks, pencils and other supplies along with the packets. The supplies in total will help 120 elementary students.

“With COVID-19 and so many families struggling and people without work, I thought it’d be a good idea to donate back to kids so some of the families don’t have to come up with more expenses,” Narber said.

Narber said that while she doesn’t have children in school anymore, she remembers the excitement that the new school year brings for both parents and students. She said she hoped the donation would provide a spark of excitement to parents and students who may have some apprehension ahead of the new school year.

“I know that was so much (to have students in school) and for us to help…we want to do anything we can to help families,” she said.

While the school purchases and distributes supplies to students, these supplies will be given to students who elect to receive their education through online means, which is an option for families this year.
