Greg Giddings, 68

Greg Giddings, 68, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away Sunday, September 5, 2021, at his home in Hampton.

 

Gregory Allen Giddings was born on July 17, 1953, in Fort Dodge, to Robert and Jacque (Ford) Giddings.  He graduated from Hampton High School.

 

Greg was united in marriage to Pam Hannah on April 20, 1974, in Hampton; to this union two sons were born, Matt and Brandon.

 

Greg was the owner of Giddings Electric, working as an electrician.  He was a volunteer for the Hampton Fire Department for nineteen years.

 

In his early life Greg liked fishing and hunting, and his affinity for the outdoors did not fade.  He liked to spend his time camping, and loved going out to Colorado to see the mountains.  He also enjoyed socializing with friends, visiting casinos, and gardening.  Greg loved to grill and cook for his family, cheesy potatoes being his specialty.  His grandchildren brought joy to his life and he loved spending time with them.

 

Greg is survived by his wife Pam of Hampton, his sons Matt (Amy) Giddings of Farmington, Minnesota and Brandon (Nichole) Giddings of Grand Junction, Colorado, grandchildren Alex, Jake, Kailee, Maddison, and Ayden, brothers Graham Giddings of Hampton and Corey Giddings of Walford, sister Tracey (Larry) Meyer of Hampton, sister-in-law Michelle Giddings of Hampton, mother-in-law Doris Hannah of Hampton, along with several nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Grant Giddings, infant brother and sister John and Melody, and father-in-law James Hannah.

 

A public visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at the Sietsema Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton. A private burial will take place at a later date.
