Frances Jean Christensen Seehusen
Frances Jean Christensen Seehusen was born October 25, 1927, in Hampton, Iowa, the only child of Sophus and Dagmar (Jacobsen) Christensen. She passed from this life on November 2, 2021, while a resident of Kennybrook Village in Grimes.
Frances attended country school in Hamilton Township and graduated from Hampton High School in 1945. She attended American Institute of Business in Des Moines, where she met her husband, Marvin Seehusen.
Frances and Marvin were married April 10, 1949, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in rural Hampton. They had a daughter, Christine. The family lived and farmed south of Coulter until Marvin’s death in 1969.
In the late 1980’s, Frances moved to Clear Lake where she lived until two years ago. She loved her home and living in Clear Lake. She was the perfect hostess and always made it a special occasion when entertaining friends. Frances was proud of her Danish heritage. She loved her church and fellowship with other members. She spent many winters in Arizona, enjoying the warm winters and activities with friends.
Frances’ determination and work ethic served her well throughout her life.
Frances is survived by her daughter Christine and son-in-law Tim Devick. She was preceded in death by her parents Sophus and Dagmar and her husband Marvin.
Memorials may be directed to St. John’s Lutheran Church in rural Hampton.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 8, 2021, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in rural Hampton. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Burial took place in the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in rural Hampton.
