Darrel Ray Poling, 83, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away Friday, November 26, 2021, at UnityPoint Health-St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. He was born on May 31, 1938, in State Center, Iowa, to Delno and Mildred (Shumaker) Poling.

Darrel graduated from Hampton High School, class of 1956. On November 2, 1958, he married Patricia Tedder in Clear Lake.

Darrel worked various jobs throughout his life including, a driver’s license examiner for DMV, a driver for COOP and Lantern, and a self employed painter. When he wasn’t working, Darrel enjoyed riding his motorcycle, taking care of their lawn, watching birds, reading, and spending time with family and friends.

Darrel is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Patricia Poling of Hampton, daughters Julle Johnson, Mari (Gary) Marquard, grandchildren Brandon (Joan) Viet, Jeramy (Julie) Viet, Keisha (Brad) Duckert, and Lexi Marquard, great-grandchildren Harber and Lincoln Viet, siblings Ronald Poling, Janice (Steven) Blood, and Richard Poling.

Darrel was preceded in death by his parents Delno and Mildred.
