Cindy Rolling

Cindy Rolling, 68, of Sheffield, passed away on Monday, May 12, 2025, at Augusta Health in Fishersville, Virginia. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at Zion St. John Lutheran Church in Sheffield with burial in Hillside Cemetery in Sheffield. Visitation will be an hour before the service. Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of the Sietsema-Atkinson Funeral Home in Hampton. 

Cynthia Beth Buss was born on May 10, 1957, to Melvin and Leona Buss at the hospital in Hampton, Iowa.

She attended and graduated from Sheffield Chapin School in 1975. She was a gifted athlete, lettering in track and softball.

Cindy was united in marriage to Randy Rolling in February 1982. To this union two sons, Ryan and Jason, were born. She and Randy later divorced.

Several years later, she met Keith Koenen, with whom she shared a deep and lasting companionship. They made a home together and remained devoted to each other until her passing. For the past 15 years, they cherished their annual trips to Texas, creating many fond memories along the way. Keith now joins her loved ones in mourning her loss.

During her lifetime she enjoyed volunteering at the concession stand during countless baseball and softball games. She also volunteered at her church to work many, many funerals.

She loved to cook and garden and share whatever she had with those around her. She enjoyed spending time and loving Ambrose and Elaina Rooney.

She is survived by her sons, Ryan and Jason, Keith, and two sisters, Diane Nuehring and Vickie (Jim) Rooney, many nieces and nephews, and countless friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, David, Gerald, and James.

We were all blessed for having known her.
