Betty Lou Harken, 81

Betty Lou Harken, 81, of Hampton, passed away on Friday, December 11, 2020 at her home in Hampton. Private funeral services are being held with the Sietsema-Atkinson Funeral Home in Hampton.

Betty Lou was born on April 6, 1939 in Austinville, Iowa to John and Lula (Brand) Rops. She graduated from Aplington High School. On May 15, 1959, Betty was united in marriage to Donald Harken in Austinville. Betty worked at Lincoln Savings Bank in Aplington for 40 years.

Betty is survived by her husband Donald of Hampton, her daughters Laurie (Gordon) Greimann of Hampton, Donna (Jim)Bergman of Ames and Jolene (Brad) Liekweg of Iowa Falls. grandchildren; Tyler (Erin) Toomsen, Nick (Anna) Toomsen, Abby (Tyler) Baltes, Haley (Zach Merfeld) Toomsen, Alyssa (Ryan) Mills, Jordan (Sara) Bergman, Zach (Dawn) Liekweg, Jake (Brittany) Liekweg, great-grandchildren Luke & Nolan Toomsen, Cooper & Emma Toomsen, Brinlee Hanson, Hudson & Lennyn Baltes, Deegan & Jaedalyn Liekweg, Kolt & Brock Liekweg, Quinn & Trace Mills, Elsie & Micah Bergman.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her mother and father-in-law Jake and Lydia Harken, sister and brother-in-law Valda & Arlo Dougan, sisters-in-law Verla and LaDonna Rops, brothers-in-law Junior Ascher and Gene Beving and niece Theresa Rops.
