Arliss Fay (Behn) Greimann

Arliss Fay (Behn) Greimann, 89, of Sheffield, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2025, at Franklin Country View Nursing Facility in Hampton. Funeral services were held at Zion St. John Lutheran Church in Sheffield with burial in the St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery in rural Sheffield. Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of the Sietsema-Atkinson Funeral Home in Hampton. 

Arliss was born on January 16, 1936, in Hampton to Erwin and Louise (Pralle) Behn. Arliss was baptized on March 8, 1936, and confirmed on April 10, 1949, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Hampton. In 1954, she graduated from Franklin Consolidated High School in Latimer. Arliss attended and graduated secretary training in Minneapolis, she was offered and accepted employment with the United States Government in Washington D.C. in 1955. After returning home she was employed by Franklin County Farm Bureau where she met her future husband. On November 27, 1960, Arliss was united in marriage to Floyd Greimann at Trinity Lutheran Church. To this union, two children were born. They made their home in Chapin, until moving to the Greimann family farm. Arliss was an active member of Zion St. John Lutheran Church, Sheffield. She was a member of Dorcas Circle, a Sunday School teacher, and attended Bible studies. Arliss found great joy in quilting with the Ladies of Zion, she valued their friendship. She also enjoyed gardening, baking cookies and picking apples from their farm orchard to make apple crisp for all. Faith, family, close friendship with their neighbors, and helping others were an important part of Arliss and Floyd’s life. They fished, camped, and golfed. Traveling to Texas and Wyoming were favorite trips. They shared their love for nature by spending time at the Greimann family pond.

Arliss is survived by her son Gordon (Laurie) Greimann, Hampton; Tyler (Erin) Toomsen children Luke, Nolan and Brody, Ackley; Nick (Anna) Toomsen children Cooper, Emma and Spencer, Geneva; Abby (Tyler) Baltes children Brinlee, Hudson, and Lennyn, Hampton; Haley (Zach) Merfeld children Ryder, Clear Lake; son Larry Greimann, Hampton; grandchildren; Taylor (Tucker) Brinkman, Marble Rock; Zach (Allie) Greimann children great granddaughter Holland, Sheffield; Guardian to niece; Meghan (Jason) Lloyd children Harper, Hannah and Haylee, Eldora; sister Rozann Herwig, Hampton and many nieces and nephews.

Arliss was preceded in death by her parents Erwin and Louise Behn, husband of 59 years, Floyd Greimann, brothers-in-law Milo (Burnie) Greimann, Lewis (Margaret) Greimann, Carl (Doris) Greimann, Paul (Arvilla) Greimann, Ron (Lori) Greimann, Byron (Betty) Heginger, Kenneth Herwig; sisters Myrna Behn and Carla (Deane) Weir.
